Russia and China are developing bilateral cooperation
On April 8, a working meeting was held in Beijing between Deputy Minister of Agriculture Maxim Uvaydov and Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of the People’s Republic of China Cui Dunyue and Deputy Head of the General Administration of Customs Wang Lingjuan, during which the parties discussed cooperation between the countries in the field of agriculture.
The participants of the event noted that recently relations between Russia and China are developing successfully.
Despite the growth in bilateral trade, the product range supplied from Russia does not reflect all potential opportunities.
Maxim Uvaydov indicated that he was interested in expanding supplies to the Chinese market of livestock products and non-food products of animal origin. To this end, it is necessary to resolve the issue of recognition by the Chinese side of the principles of regionalization of Russia, including on foot and mouth disease, nodular dermatitis and African swine fever. It is also necessary to continue the work of the supervisory authorities on the admission of pork, cattle meat and turkey by-products. In accordance with the previously reached agreements, work is underway on the access of Russian fodder and feed additives to the Chinese market.
During the working visit, Maxim Uvaydov met with the Vice-President of the COFCO Group Corporation Luan Richen.
The parties discussed the possibility of increasing imports by the said organization of wheat, corn, oil and fat products, which will be reflected in the memorandum, which is scheduled to be signed in the near future. The Deputy Minister summed up that Russia is ready to provide the necessary assistance to the company in the implementation of agricultural projects in the Russian Federation.
